It's PPA Challenge Day!

If you've not done challenges in the past, they are a great way to stretch your creativity. There are many challenges out there in which to participate, but my favorite is the Pal's Paper Arts Challenge.

The Pals are a group of hobby and business stampers under the leadership of Mary Fish. The group has a very active, positive and supportive Facebook page, which, until convention is where I got to know members of the Pals group. When I told friends of mine that I was going to the Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City, the first question was, "Who are you going with?" I received a wide range of responses when I said I travelling alone and that I had never met any of the people who were going to be there - including my roommate! Two of my besties thought I was nuts and one made me promise I'd contact her when I got to SLC to assure her that my roommate was not an ax murderer. After meeting my roomie Janet Christen Tomky, I was able to call Wendy to inform her that all was well!

So you may be thinking, what does all of this have to do with the PPA Challenge? Hold on for one more moment.

This week we have a color challenge. I found color challenges to be a bit easier than sketch challenges, so if you're just beginning to play along, this is a great starting point.

For this challenge, I broke out my What's Your Type? stamp set. I first saw this at the annual catalog reveal and thought, who would want that? But the more I saw of it, the more fun I thought it would be to play with.

Okay, the time has come for the tie-in between the challenge and the Pals:

I do "heart" the Pals. Everyone in the group made me feel so welcomed. It was great putting names and faces together, sharing ideas and laughs. If you've ever considered becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator either to get a discount on your hobby or to share your love of stamping with others, I would encourage you to become a Pal. $125 in products (including items from the not yet released to the general public holiday catalog) can be yours for only $99! I'm looking for local and long distance stamping buddies. Give me a call or send a quick email; I'd love to talk with you!

If you rise to the challenge, please send me a photo of your project; one of the best parts of stamping is sharing!

Until next time, take gentle care,

  1. Sue I too delayed in getting this set and then broke down to purchase it. I have not had the success you had with this card. The colors are the perfect combination. Great card!
