Celebrating 100 days of Kindergarten

Hi all,

I'm back. It's been an interesting couple of weeks, I'll spare you the gory details. I will, however, share a fun story with you!

Last Friday I received a letter from my great-niece, Christina. She is in kindergarten. Her class will be celebrating 100 days of school in February and she wrote to ask me to send mail to her classroom; they hope to receive 100 pieces of mail.

"Woo hoo!", thought this great-aunt. I'm going to make the BEST card they'll receive (unless my sister makes one that's cuter!). Saturday I was on a major stamping binge to prep for an upcoming open house, but I did take time to create a card for Christina and her classmates.

My immediate thought was stars and glitter. I also wanted to create a WOW! card, so I went to Splitcoast Stampers to find a slider card tutorial. Here's my result!

Lisa Pretto is my second upline. She lives about an hour from me and you may remember reading about some of my stamping time at her house. Her creations often feature flowing ribbons and sequins, yup, I'm channeling Lisa!

The best part of this card is the surprise you get when pulling the red ribbon tag on the side.

Is that fun or what! The card base is a standard 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. I wanted to have a place to write a note to the class. I'm thinking the teacher may not appreciate my asking if they were going to get 100 minutes of recess:)

I did make some modification to the slider component of the card. It needed a bit of reinforcement. If you have any questions on how to create this fold, I'll be happy to answer them for you.

Please leave a commnet. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this card!

Until next time, take gentle care!

Sale-A-Bration is Here!

Hi all,

I trust you had an enjoyable holiday season. It was a bit of a whirlwind for me, but I'm getting back to a normal routine - finally!

The most wonderful time of the Stampin' Up! year is here - Sale-A-Bration (SAB). For every $50 in products that you purchase, you may choose one item from the SAB catalog for FREE! The really hard part is making your final purchasing choices when shopping from the new Occasions catalog.

There are so many beautiful and fun new products; I'm looking forward to sharing many samples with you over the next few months.

A group of my stamping friends recently held a long distance card swap using items from the new catalog. Here is the card I made.

I chose products from the Sending Love suite starting with the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack.featuring 6 each of  8 double sided designs in a handy 6" x 6" size - oh the possibilities!

The Sealed With Love Bundle gives you a 10% savings and plenty of toys to make your Valentine creations unique and varied. The little envelope framelit is so cute!

There are many ways to use the heart shaped framelit!

I especially love the line of hearts. You can get a better look at the 3D effect from this framelit.

And we don't want to forget the cute sentiment and cut out heart for inside the card!

Purchase the bundle, add the coordinating ribbon and/or embellishments and choose a FREE SAB item. There's lots of time to create your Valentines. Click HERE to shop my 24/7 store.

Stay tuned for more great designs from the new catalog!!
