Onstage Local

Hi all,

What a fun day I had yesterday. Because Stampin' Up! is now a global company, the way in which the demonstrator gatherings are being held has changed. Yesterday, demonstrators throughout the world got together for learning, stamping, friendship and seeing the new product catalogs that will be available 1/1. The main gathering was held in Brussels, Belgium, but I was fortunate because one of the six US gatherings was held in Milwaukee. I was very surprised to learn that the Milwaukee gathering had the most attendees!

The day was great in that I also make a new SU! friend. Through the magic of our Pals Facebook group, I met Natalie Bush from Shell Lake, WI and invited her to spend the weekend with me. We had a great weekend getting to know each other. At the event, I was also able to meet a fellow Pals Bobbi Lang Lewis from Michigan and Marines Hesslau from Illinois. We partnered with Lisa Pretto's InkBig group for a card swap and had a wonderful time! I brought home 3 new stamp sets and a package of DSP, 4 make 'n takes, several Stampin' Up! logo items, the Watercolor Wishes card kit from the very generous Lisa  Pretto and lots of great memories.

My one adventure of the day was getting locked into a bathroom stall! After struggling for about 2 minutes on my own, I asked for help. I think there were 5 women on the other side of door pulling and tugging - talk about an embarrassing moment! About five minutes later, someone grabbed the bottom of the door and voila, it popped right open. I profusely thanked my rescuers and headed back to my table, I overheard stampers informing others to stay away from that stall! Never a dull moment!!!

After enjoying breakfast with Natalie that consisted of french toast from my homemade cinnamon bread - yum, Natalie left for home and I headed to my craft table

I have two birthdays this week for special guys in my life. I CASEd this card from Pinterest and just love it! I know the leaves are off the trees, but until the snow is piled outside, I will continue to use this great stamp set!
I don't have the corrugated paper, so scored a piece of crumb cake at 1/8" intervals prior to cutting it with the framelit. I do love all of the texture in this card, don't you? Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

As soon as I'm able, I'll share projects with the newest SU! products - you're going to love them!

Thanks for stopping, have a great week!

Sue

Contain yourself!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October where we are celebrating an early Fall season by sharing Halloween and Autumn projects using our wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies.  We hope you enjoy our creations!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Pam Sadler at Stampin Pink Rose, number 4 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
With all of the fabulous Stampin' Up! dies that are available, it has been very difficult for me to "contain" myself! I chose to feature the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits along with the Happy Haunting DSP. You can certainly scare up some compliments when handing these treat filled containers off to family, friends and special trick-or-treaters!

I am especially loving the sparkling witches hat made with the 2 1/2" circle punch, the word window punch and the Tree Punch. For the hat on the mini treat bag, I used glue dots to adhere a small clothespin inside the hat for easy access to the treats!
For the pumpkin's hat, I bent the spider web in half and snipped a very narrow bit from the center so, when opened, the slit would fit over the curvy keepsake handle. I used Tombow glue to adhere the hat to the web so both pieces can be removed as one unit. It's hard to tell from the photo, but I used bits of the black glimmer paper to make the pumpkin's face.

What has been your favorite SU! container to create and give? Leave a comment below; I love to hear your ideas!
The next stop is Karen Hallam at Karen's Stampin' Habit, number 6 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!

The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits are perfect for Halloween treats, used to hold utensils at your Thanksgiving table or as a gift card holder for the Christmas holiday. The ideas are only limited by your mind and when that happens, there's always Pinterest! Here is a sample I made earlier this year:

September 9, 2015

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September.  This month we are showing off our favorite new products from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  We hope you enjoy our projects!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Becky Volpp at InkBlossomwithBecky on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
We die hard stampers have a difficult time with new catalogs; it's so hard to not want everything! For the past 5 or 6 years, I've created a holiday card for a business owned by a friend. Each year I look for a stamp set that will work for that project. This year Berry Merry caught my eye. I love to hear the feedback from Mark's clients and work to create a card that will stand out from the pre-printed cards his clients receive from other service providers. This is one of the choices I'll be providing for this year's card.
I am loving A Little Something for the background stamps in the set. I used Versamark and the snowflakes to add some detail to the background. The sentiment from Berry Merry is embossed onto Night of Navy with a mix of Silver and Iridescent Ice. Tombow, 'green glue' was used to attach the sentiment to the Silver Glimmer Paper. The Iced Rhinestone Embellishments finish off the card front.

This is my first go at a tunnel card. Look out, they are addicting and really pack a wow! If this is the card that is chosen, I may be over my addiction after making 200 of them!

I would love your feedback on this project. If you have any questions or thoughts, please leave a comment below.
