Magnolia Packaging

Because my sister chaffeured me, grocery shopped for me and got me out of the house while I was recouping from surgery so I wouldn't go crazy, I picked up a small treat for her and, of course, had to create a fun package!

I based the package on a Pootles tutorial, adjusting the measurements to fit a bottle of hairspray. I just can't get enough of this Magnolia suite.

The flower was created using the Magnolia Memory thinlits. You can make an even larger flower by adding another layer of petals using the Hot Air Balloon punch. The Organdy Striped Ribbon added a beautiful and delicate touch. So pretty!

I was more excited to give the package than what was inside. Thankfully, my sister appreciates paper crafting!

Questions? Comments? Leave a message below and I'll follow up with you.

Score 6 for the Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals’ May  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects with “More Than One Score.” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Six scores and seven days ago I created the Tented Gift Box thanks to a tutorial by Sam Hammond. I was looking for a way to package gifts for nurses week. I work in health care and simply HAD to create fun packaging for the nurse's gifts. This project began in my ribbon drawer, oh what vintage product to use. I impressed myself by emptying 3 spools!!

After completing 31 boxes, I thought, what's one more? And now we come to my blog hop project.

                   Card stock:
                   Daffodil Delight cut at 8" x 10.5"
                                             on the long side score at 3 1/2", 5", 8 1/2" & 10"
                                             on the short side score at 1 1/2" & 6 1/2"
                   Night of Navy cut at 3 3/8" x 4 7/8"
Whisper White and Night of Navy scraps
                   Gingham Gala Daffodil Delight cut at 3 1/4" x 4 3/4"
Stamp sets: Daisy Delight, A Big Thank You
Embellishments: Faceted Gem - gold, Night of Navy Ribbon, Layering Ovals
                                              Framelits

To show you how quickly you can recreate this project, I made a video tutorial. My intent, as initially stated in the tutorial was to post the video with no editing. WELL....I had bow malfunction and didn't want you to cope with that, so off to editing I went!

Please post a comment if you like this project. I love to hear from you.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 12, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Anything with Wings” projects. Don’t miss the fun!

One Way to See Life Half Full

I make an effort to be a glass half full kind of person. I don't tolerate a lot of negativity - life is too short for that.

Linda Bauwin's Million Dollar stamp set, Half Full (#144999) has wonderful images and sentiments to add a positive note to your day.

To create this card:
Card stock:
Cherry Cobbler 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Basic Black 5 1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

  • Mark the Very Vanilla piece at the halfway point on each side using a pencil
  • Use tape or Post-It to create a mask using the pencil marks made above
  • Lightly sponge each masked triangle using Blushing Bride and Soft Seafoam
  • With the mask in place stamp the triangle with glasses from Half Full and Sheet Music
  • With mask in place, sponge the edge of the mask with Momento
  • Stamp the wine bottle image
  • Color with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities
  • Create the shadow with Smoky Slate and an Aqua Painter or Blender Pen
  • Cover the label with clear Wink of Stella for a bit of added sparkle
  • Layer the pieces onto the base

A Note of Encouragement with Artfully Aware

I currently have five people in my world who are experiencing major medical struggles, several of them are co-workers. I wanted my colleagues to know they are being thought of by our leadership team so created a few cards we all signed at our morning meeting and popped them into the mail. In spite of all they are experiencing, I hope the thoughts and sentiments provide a smile to their day.

The Artfully Aware stamp set was a perfect choice for a card from the team. I'm not an artist or even a really good color-er (I know, that's not a word, but you get it!), but the Stampin' Blends make shading so very easy. You'll find the list of products used in this project below.
