Put a Lid on it!

Put a Lid on it!

Craft projects using Mason jars are so trendy and fun. But sometimes your craft table gets littered with lids and jar rings that you didn’t need for projects. In this tutorial, you’ll learn two ways to use those lids and rings for adorable home décor and gift items. The jar ring banner is perfect for Christmas, New Year, or even a birthday or other celebration. And the jar lid coasters can be a fun, useful, yet inexpensive gift for friends on your gift list. These projects would be a nice stamp camp if offered together, or two separate classes.

Credit to Buffy Cooper for this creative idea. The tutorial for this project is available in the month of November at Craft Project Central.

Until next time, take gentle care!

Holiday Framed Art!

Greetings all!

Recently, I was asked to be a guest designer in November for Craft Project Central. Who, me?? What fun! Each month, Craft Project Central features eleven projects, each created by a different designer. For $10, you can purchase all eleven step by step tutorials complete with lots of photos to guide you through the project. Throughout this month I'll be sharing sneak peaks of all eleven projects.

The first project this month was created by Regina Andarai.

Holiday Framed Art!

It’s time to think about holiday décor, and you’ll be off to a great start with this tutorial.  Create a festive framed work of art comprised of six individual panels that are easy to make and possess enough interest and detail that will have your guests taking more than just a quick glance.  Since you’ll probably be going to some holiday parties or dinners, go ahead and make a few of these framed projects so you’ll have a fantastic gift for a hostess (or two).  This tutorial even includes a coordinating card!

The tutorial for this project is available at Craft Project Central.

Thanks for stopping. Make it a great day!!

Birthday Star Fold

Greetings!

I had a productive Sunday in my creative space. I was working on a major project and had to get things in order. It was such a disaster, I couldn't think. I cannot work in chaos. I got lots of projects done, addressed a stack of Halloween cards, birthday cards and an anniversary card. I'll share some of them in the coming weeks.

Because I had such a challenge uploading my Star Fold tutorial and wound up posting it late, I thought I'd give you another sample using this great fold.

For the base on this card, I again used DSP. If you prefer cardstock, Stampin' Up! does have 12" x 12" cardstock available in the annual catalog by color family. There are two sheets of each color. The holiday catalog also has a package of Real Red (141982), a package of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green, ten pieces of each color ( 141992) and a package of Basic Gray and Pumpkin Pie (142023). If you do a lot of scrap booking, this is a great time to purchase some of you favorite colors.

The Confetti Celebration stamp set helped me finish off this fun fold.

The finished card measures 6" x 7", but finding an envelope is no worry. Simply break out your Envelope Punch Board. For my envelope, I used a matching piece of DSP for a festive delivery!

Be sure to sign up to have my posts sent directly to your mail boxor. Simply enter your email address in the field to the right or stop back later in the week to see what else I was up to over the weekend.

I love to hear from you! Please leave your questions or comments.

Make your day a great one!

Star Fold Video Tutorial

Hi All!

I chased away the ghouls and goblins and was able to upload my tutorial. I think the lesson here is that I need to do more video tutorials so my skill set improves.

This is the star fold I featured in the last blog hop.

So, are you ready to create this fold for your own project? Here we go!

Comments? Questions? I welcome your feedback.

Make your day a great one!

A Quick Note

Hi all!

Whew! My days have been full - how about yours? My son was home againg this weekend. I bought a new Rav4 - my 'momma mobile' is 11 years old and has almost 152K miles on it. I was ready for new wheels. I also sold my minivan over the weekend. Sunday we celebrated my mom's 89th birthday and I got three loads of laundry done for the boy to take back to school. I know, he's spoiled. He's my only one and I do enjoy doting. In my craft room - and kitchen and dining room - I've been diligently working on a tutorial for Craft Project Central. They asked me to be a guest designer for the month of November. I will be sharing my project and other Craft Central projects for the month on my blog. I was a bit stressed about coming up with a project worthy of a guest designer! I like the end product and because of the multiples I ended up making, I have several Christmas gifts ready to go!

So, for my quick note today, I cased a very fun card I saw on Pinterest. I love music; it has always been a part of my life, from piano and strings in grade school to band and choir in high school. Through college and beyond, I made great extra money singing for weddings and funerals. For years I was very involved in community theater. Unfortunately, several years ago I went through some major stresses in my life and lost my vocal range. I went to doctors, speech and massage therapists with no changes. That is a loss I regularly mourn. But enough of that, back to the fun card!

Wouldn't four of these with envelopes tied in black ribbon make a perfect gift for a music teacher, your church choir director or organist or any music enthusiast? The notes were made from the 1" circle punch and I cut the stems from snips of Basic Black Cardstock.
My staff was a snap to make using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. This bundle is so versatile. If you've not yet purchased it - don't wait!

That's it for today folks. Stay tuned for my second post this week. I'll be sharing a video on how to make a star fold card like the one I featured last week in the Pal's Blog Hop.

Another 2 x 2

Hi!

Thanks for stopping in today. I have another quick project using the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes. The box today is decked out for Halloween.

This little count is ready for his Halloween night on the town.

I cut a strip of DSP at 8 1/2" x 1 7/8" and scored it 1/4" from each end. I added a bit of adhesive to the small flaps, aligned the score line on a corner and wrapped the box. This time I have the opening at the top of the box. My 2" circle punch provided the background and the moon.

You can fill your box with a wide variety of holiday treats.

I cut a 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" piece of DSP for the top of the box. What a quick and easy way to present a treat to your favorite little ghoul.

The treats I've featured on my blog will be going to co-workers - shhh! don't tell them.

Be sure to add the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes to your next order.

Don't have a SU! demonstrator? I'd love to be able to help you with all of your stamping needs. Click here to shop.

Wicked Star Fold

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects feature cards made using “wicked” folds. What is a “wicked” fold? It is anything other than the standard A2 card fold. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

I love fun folds, but admit I can be intimidated by some of them! I went searching to find something fun to share with you, but also wanted a fold that wasn't too complicated, so check out this star fold!

I can see using this fold for so many occasions from Christmas to weddings or for a baby. It's a great way to show off our Designer Series Paper - hmmm, there just happens to be a DSP sale going on here.
Now for the open view!

If you like this project, please leave a message below. Be sure to sign up to follow me by email to receive my blog post next week with the video on how to create this wickedly fun fold!
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!
